Photography Apps on the iPhone

I hate to admit it, but being an iPhone owner has been transforming me in many ways. In addition to relying more on my iPhone camera than on my point-and-shoot, I’ve also taken to playing with some of the photography apps lately. (Only the free ones so far!)

One of my favorites right now is the Instagram app. After you take a picture with your phone, you can apply one of a number of filters, which transforms the look and feel of the photo.

I feel a little guilty using this app, rather than actually learning how to do these types of things with a real camera. But, on the other hand, it’s kind of fun to see what kinds of styles I like, so if I ever do decide to buy a filter for my Canon, I will have a better idea of what kind(s) I’d be more likely to use.

Anyway, here’s one photo I took with my iPhone and edited using Instagram.

That’s the Ticket!

I like photos that when examined closely contain a lot of hidden clues about the subject, or about the photographer. I think you can learn a lot about me from this photo. For example,

  • I’m a sports fan.
  • I’m a Chicago girl.
  • I’m a bit of a pack rat. (This is only a teeny glimpse at the tickets I’ve saved over the years.)
  • I tend to get very distracted when I’m supposed to be cleaning out the closet.
